It is time to stop merely talking about veteran suicide in Maine, and start doing something about it! Let's move from doing 22 pushups to buying 22 two x four's to build cottages on our veteran owned farms in Maine to house our vets, give them jobs, and train them to start their own farm and feed their community.
This can work, and one at a time we can change to veteran suicide stats that have haunted us for the last 50 years. 58,000 soldiers names are on the wall, 200,000 veterans from Vietnam have committed suicide since coming home. Today we are averaging 8,400 veterans per year taking their own lives, we need to do more to change this trend and start giving our returning veterans a chance at hope and a new future in Agriculture.
Will you be a part of this real effort to change the tomorrows of our veterans?
